On Paper

On Paper

It’s increasingly rare that I get excited about apps nowadays - it just seems like the more you play with a new toy, the more shortcomings you find. This is especially true with the current iterate-as-you-go methodology, which sees apps released to the public before they are really ready.

But this morning I stumbled on an app called Paper by Mihhail Lapushkin. Mihhail is based in Tallinn and he has crafted the smoothest, most gorgeous, most minimal Markdown text editor. This thing makes IA Writer look busy and it gives Typora a serious run for its money, because it’s available on iOS devices as well as Macs.

There’s a pro version, which is expensive, but the pro features aren’t time-limited, so you can try them out for free for as long as you like (so long as you don’t mind a box popping up now and again, and losing your pro-settings each time). Every aspect of this app has been thought about and carefully crafted and it is a joy to use - just a sheet of virtual paper you can type on.

Paper can be downloaded on the app store and Mihhail has written about its genesis HERE.
