On Audubon

I was going to write something else entirely today, but then I came upon this piece: How to Triumph Over the Challenges of the Creative Life: Audubon’s Antidote to Despair – The Marginalian and it has been obsessing me.

The eagle-eared will know that Aldrich Kemp keeps a (stolen) first edition of Audubon's "Birds of America" in his library. It's generally thought to be one of the most expensive books in the world. The struggle to get it done, though, is a story I didn't know until now.
